The KOKOLANA FOUNDATION Education Unit officially resumed its outreach activities today with successful visits to two educational institutions within the Tamale Metropolitan and Sagnarigu Districts areas. The purpose of the outreach was to introduce the Foundation’s EduCare Support Initiative, establish partnerships with schools, and begin the process of identifying vulnerable and needy children who may benefit from educational support.
First Stop: Tua Sunnia Islamic Primary School, Gukpegu Tua
The team’s first visit was to Tua Sunnia Islamic Primary School at Gukpegu Tua in the Tamale Metropolitan District.
Upon arrival, the team received a warm reception from members of the teaching staff and was invited to the staff common room while waiting to meet the school administration. Although the Headmistress was absent due to ill health, the Assistant Headteacher warmly welcomed the Foundation and represented the school during the engagement.
The team officially presented a letter introducing KOKOLANA FOUNDATION and outlining its mission, particularly the EduCare Support Initiative, which seeks to collaborate with schools in identifying vulnerable pupils who require educational assistance. The Foundation explained its commitment to ensuring that children from disadvantaged backgrounds have access to the support they need to pursue their education alongside their peers.
After listening to the Foundation’s presentation, the Assistant Headteacher expressed her appreciation for the initiative, welcomed the Foundation to the school, and formally received the letter on behalf of the Headmistress. The engagement concluded on a positive note, with meaningful discussions, photographs with members of staff, and interactions with some of the pupils.
Second Stop: Kpawumo Children’s Home Education Centre
The outreach team then proceeded to Kpawumo Children’s Home Education Centre at Nanton Kpawumo in the Sagnarigu Municipality.
The team received another warm welcome upon arrival. Before the formal meeting commenced, some members of the Education Unit spent time interacting and playing with the children. The joyful moments shared with the children created a memorable experience and reflected the Foundation’s commitment to building meaningful relationships with the communities it serves.
The Headteacher welcomed the team and later invited the Proprietor to join the discussion. During the meeting, the Foundation introduced its vision, mission, and objectives, while also seeking to understand the operations and educational programmes of the institution. Both parties exchanged ideas on potential areas of collaboration aimed at improving educational opportunities for vulnerable children.
The discussions were productive and encouraging, and the Foundation looks forward to developing a strong and lasting partnership with the management of Kpawumo Children’s Home Education Centre.
Looking Ahead
The successful engagements at both institutions mark an important step in the implementation of the Foundation’s EduCare Support Initiative. By working closely with schools and educational institutions, KOKOLANA FOUNDATION seeks to establish a transparent and sustainable beneficiary identification process that ensures support reaches children who genuinely need it.
The Foundation believes that strong partnerships with educators and school administrators are essential in promoting equal educational opportunities and improving the lives of vulnerable children within our communities.
Gratitude
The Foundation expresses its deepest gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT) for granting the team a safe journey throughout the outreach and for guiding every engagement from the beginning to the end.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to the management, teachers, and staff of Tua Sunnia Islamic Primary School and Kpawumo Children’s Home Education Centre for their warm hospitality, openness, and willingness to collaborate with the Foundation.
Today’s outreach was not only successful but also inspiring. The enthusiasm, unity, and dedication demonstrated by members of the Education Unit reaffirm our shared commitment to transforming lives through education.
Together, we remain committed to identifying, supporting, and empowering vulnerable children to achieve their full potential.
