Friday 3rd July, 2026, the Kokolana Foundation extended its support to a malnourished child, Osman Nasira, at Kobilmahgu near Bamba Academy.
As part of our commitment to standing with vulnerable children and their families during difficult times, the Foundation provided both medical and nutritional support to improve the child’s health condition.
The child was assessed by health professionals within the Foundation and was diagnosed with an infection. As a result, she was placed on treatment including Cefuroxime syrup and Abidec syrup (multivitamin supplement) to help manage the infection and improve her nutritional status.
Further assessment also revealed that the child was suffering from protein deficiency and weak bone development, which contributed to her poor health condition. In response, the Foundation provided nutritional support including a crate of eggs, five bowls of beans, five bowls of maize rice, a bowl of “Amani”, 30 pieces of Nido Essential, 30 pieces of Tom Brown, and a 5-litre container of palm oil. These items were given to boost her energy intake, support growth, and improve overall health.
It was also observed that the child, who is 1 year and 10 months old, is currently unable to walk or crawl, which raises concerns about her developmental progress. The Foundation remains committed to monitoring her condition and supporting her recovery.
The Kokolana Foundation continues to reaffirm its dedication to improving the wellbeing of vulnerable children and supporting families in need.
